Member Story: Financial Future
“My parents have worked for American Airlines since before I was born and have been using the Credit Union for just as long,” said Haylee Hauser, 21, herself a Credit Union member for eight years. “Two of the tellers at my local branch have been working there long enough to watch me grow up over the years. They used to give me candy and other treats as a small child when I would go in with my dad and now they’re helping me deposit my own paystubs.”
For Haylee, the Credit Union is more than just a financial institution, “being a member is like joining a family.”
It was during Haylee’s junior year at Oklahoma State University that the Credit Union gave her another surprise, a surprise in the form of a $5,000 scholarship. “It enabled me to pay for all of my extra expenses during my last year of college,” she said. “It was a massive weight off my shoulders not having to worry about how I was going to pay for textbooks or rent.”
After college, Haylee hopes to find a full-time marketing position, and in the meantime, she knows the Credit Union will always be there for her.
“I never have to worry about sitting through a sales pitch about the latest credit card or loan program, unlike a typical bank,” she said. “It is reassuring to know that the Credit Union has only the best intentions for my financial and personal future.”
