SUMMARY: The personal payment service Zelle® is making some changes that could impact how you manage your finances.

The ever-changing world of personal payments options is getting ready to change again. After March 31, 2025, Zelle will transition from its standalone app to being integrated into the mobile banking apps of participating financial institutions.

What This Means for You

American Airlines Federal Credit Union currently doesn’t offer Zelle with our online banking platform,  which means that you’ll no longer be able to send or receive funds through your Credit Union account using Zelle as a result of their decision to reduce access. While evaluating Zelle’s cost effectiveness and safety, we opted instead to create our own convenient, personal finance solution.

Introducing Send Money

This feature allows you to transfer funds directly from your checking to recipients, giving them the flexibility to choose how to deposit the funds – whether through PayPal, Venmo, or a debit card. While Send Money doesn’t offer the ability to receive funds, we are continuing to make regular upgrades and enhancements.

• Apple Pay:® Transfer money quickly via mobile devices.
• Venmo:™ Easily send and receive money using your bank account, debit, or credit card.
• PayPal:™ Securely transfer funds using your PayPal balance or linked accounts.
• Cash App:™ Send money using a linked debit card or bank account.
• Wires: The Credit Union provides to the ability to make wire payments. Visit our forms page to select the form for the type of transfer you’re making.**
• Bill Pay: For scheduling regular monthly expenses (utilities, credit cards, etc.), our bill pay payment scheduling service is an easy-to-use solution.
